- How did you come up with your band name?
We wanted a name that represented our sexuality, and not for a pr stunt, hah… as many have said. Growing up being gay, and not really having any openly gay acts to look up to – I mean, surely lots of them, but what we have taken notice of, is that labels and managers are still in an oldschool perception of, that being openly out is bad for business because you will push away, either the male or female audience… that’s BS in our opinion. We don’t do it as a political statement… it’s just what we are, so why not be it openly. Also it was important to bring the fun side of it out, i.e the name… – How did you become a band?
That was actually rather spontaneous. Carla has been dj’ing now for 9 years, and 3 years ago when we fell in love, Carla asked me if I wanted to try and freestyle over her dj’set one night, and I thought, why not? That was the first time for me, with a mic in my hand… and I loved it. Was really surprised of what came out of me, same for Carla… we got amazing response from the crowd – from that night one, we found out we we’re starting on a fairytale. – When and which mood should one listen to your album?
Hah, that’s a tough one… I mean, we’ve got a lot of moods on the album. The entire album was created on the thesis: what mood are we in today - so the album pretty much is a mixture of moods. I think you have to be pretty open minded and hopefully it will take you on a journey. – Which (musical) influences did you have when producing your album?
We can’t really name any names, but our inspiration came from sounds – both of us have a broad taste in music, so the inspiration really came from all over the place. Just sounds and rythms… everything from the sound of a drum in a reggae track to a particular synth we heard in some other random track. – Which overall topics do you cover in your texts? Why?
Writing is still a really new thing to me… everything has happened amazingly fast, but in its own flow… and from when I first hand a mic in my hand to we did our first ep Samo Ti//Uzela released on Palms Out Sounds in 2007, it all was done as freestyles cause I started in that way – so the process of writing started with freestyling – close my eyes, get in to the mood, and the stories would come. Feed The Horse is about loving women, Mary Jane is about the loveliness of weed, Oci is a traditional Balkan love song made untraditional when singing woman to woman, Negori is about loosing your inner light and glow, what keeps us alive and about over medicating people with depressions.
- Your album combines different genres, electro, poppy-housebeats, grime, funk, oriental-balkan beat. Where does this diversity derive from?
It comes from us! I grew up with traditional Balkan on one side, then on the other, I am a MTV child…. I would be glued to the tv in the age of 4 just absorbing all the moves, beat and lyrics… I actually started leaning English watching Mtv, hah! - What is the story behind the song “Feed the horse”?
We have our good friend Kaytee, and she’s a funny one that girl! She would always say to us, “ahhh, you’re going home to feed the horse (in Danish)” and that will always make us laugh our pants of. So when we came to NY for the first time to play at our release party for our Samo Ti//Uzela ep back in ’07, we needed a place to stay. Carla’s mom actually suggested another fellow Danish producer called Rasmus Bille Bähncke, who had been living and working in the states for 5 years at that time, producing pop for Mary J. Blige, Sting and had a grammy hanging for Backstreet Boys… he had lived on the story above her years ago, so naturally we contacted him… we arrive and fell in love with the man – amazing spirits, so we invited him to see us performe, he did and we blew his socks of, he says…. We all three knew, that we had to go to the studio together, so the next morning we started working in his home studio…. Carla was quick and said she really wanted to do a lesbian anthem… and we thought of feeding the horse… I jumped on urbandictionary.com, and true enough, feed the horse meant the same in Danish and English. – 3 top albums of 2009? An Horse ist eine australische Band, die aus Kate Cooper und Damon Cox besteht und auf ihrer Myspace-Seite auf „Klingt wie“ mit „True Love.“ antworten. Das alleine sollte ja schon als Anreiz reichen, da mal zu horchen, was es mit der Musik des Debütalbum „Rearrange Beds“ (in Deutschland gibt es leider bisher noch keinen Veröffentlichungstermin) auf sich hat – und ja…wir stimmen ihnen zu – da ist sie, die wahre Liebe! Genauso hört man aber auch ihr Motto „We live to get radical“ aus den Songs heraus. Grund genug Mal die kryptische australische Vorwahl heraus zu suchen und die mindestens zwanzigstellige Nummer in den Fernsprechautomaten einzuhämmern. 2.) Questionnaire: - How did you become a band? Damon and I worked in a record store in Brisbane for several years. We knew each other from around town before I got a job at the record store. Damon has been working there for a few years. It was so much fun working together! We became really good friends and one day decided to try playing music together. We would practice in the store after hours. It was great.
- How did you come up with your band name? Oh a long time ago I was having a grammar discussion with friends. One of them insisted an horse was correct grammar. I disagreed. He made me a sweater with an horse written on it as a joke. One day I was recording some demos at home and was wearing the sweater. I just used the name because it was the first thing I saw. It kinda stuck.
- How would you describe your musical style? Honest.
- You both worked in a record store – did it influence your music taste and what kind of music influenced you?
I don’t think it influenced my taste but it definitely allowed us to open our minds! haha. The best taste in music is an eclectic taste. Working at the store was like being a kid in a candy store. We listened to everything.
- What are you as a band doing at the moment?
At the moment Damon is in Australia. I am in Montreal. We are busy planning, plotting, writing, eating, drinking coffee. I am going home next week. I plan to go the beach. I think Damon and I will hang out and plan and plot some more. We are heading out in January on a big tour with Tegan and Sara.
- Your first album is called “Rearrange Beds” – how did it come to the title and does it have a meaning for the whole album?
It’s a lyric and song title. Actually, a friend of ours who does all our artwork emailed me one day. She wrote that she was rearranging her bed so she could think better when she slept. I emailed back and told her I had rearranged mine so now our brains were connected at night. I think we were writing a comic together at the time. It was kind of a joke we had about working 24 hours a day. Anyways the whole concept of rearranging your bed, room, life fits with most of the content on the record. A lot of the songs were about a weird time I was having and I rearranged a lot of things. It just worked. I hope.
- “Camp out” is one of our favorite songs – can you tell how this song was produced, what it is about and if there is a story behind it?
You know I think I took the idea of camping out from another friends email. They were writing to me about a boy camping out in their heart. I liked that idea and I rolled with it. I wrote in my bedroom before going to the record store one day. I have a whole stack of acoustic demos that were the first incarnations of rearrange beds. They sounds so different. I gave those demos to Damon and we built the songs from that. I remember that song coming together really quickly. I don’t think I liked it so much and I didn’t want to do it but Damon insisted we try it. Ha. He knows best with these things.
- Can you describe the procedure of how you are writing songs? Yes, it is rather boring. I play guitar by myself. Sometimes I don’t want to even look at a guitar. Sometimes it’s all I want to do. I don’t think about it that much. Songs kind of write themselves I think. Whenever I have tried to write a song, it has been terrible. So I just let them come when they come. Then I record them at home and give Damon a whole bunch of demos at a time. He sits with them for however long and then we get together and flesh them out.
- You were on tour with Tegan and Sara and you will be touring with them in 2010 – can you tell how this came off? I met Tegan and Sara in the record store where Damon and I worked in Brisbane a long time before An Horse started. I became good friends and we stayed in touch. They were always so supporitve of me musically. I gave them a demo of an horse and they asked us to go on tour. They are my favourite people to tour with. We have a lot of fun and I get to watch their show each night.
- With which person would you like to work together and why?
Well it’s a tie between Larry David and Kylie Minogue. Larry David because he is Larry David and probably doesn’t play music. Kylie because well…she is amazing!
- 3 top albums 2009? Why? Tegan and Sara – Sainthood. Why – because it’s brilliant!
Telekenisis – Telekenisis. Why – The songs are just so so so good. This band is amazing.
Manchester Orchestra – Everything to Nothing.
- What did you learn 2009?
Balance is very important in my life.
- Your best personal experience in 2009?
Playing Letterman was probably the coolest thing. Also being in the studio watching Tegan and Sara make Sainthood was pretty damn cool!

2.) Questionnaire:
- How did you come up with your band name? Peter came up with that. I don’t think there was a ton of thought put into it. He told me it was from the Microphones song called “Antlers”. It’s just a name now and we don’t really think about it. It just is what it is.
- How did you become a band? Peter was playing solo for awhile and we were all involved in other music projects. I was asked by the old bass player if I’d come play trumpet at some shows with some other guys Peter knew. It kind of evolved from there and ended up just me Peter and Michael about a year and a half ago.
- How would you describe your musical style? Ethereal, transcendental dream pop.
- Which musical influences do you have? My laptop right now says I have 3,686 albums currently on it. I’ve listened to about 70% of those and have been “influenced” positively by about 20% of them. So it’s complicated I guess, but right now I listen to a lot of electronic music and IDM, but I still listen to a lot of indie rock and post rock and classic stuff. Right now I’m obsessed with the Modeselektor/Apparat/Moderat trifecta, but I’m just as obsessed with the new the new Broadcast, Beach House and Flaming Lips records.
- What are you as a band/musician doing at the moment? Right now I’m listening to Beach House on headphones and riding in the van from Glasgow to Manchester and it’s raining pretty hard outside. Very gloomy and moody. On a grander scale, we in the middle of a three week European tour that ends in Ireland. Then we go home to Brooklyn, play at Bowery Ballroom, and then we have about a month and a half of recording a new record until we go on tour again in February.
- It took two years for recording “Hospice” – why did it take so long? Is that a long time? It’s not really a long time I don’t think, especially when you have the time and you record it yourself. You have time to get it exactly right. It’s not like you’re in the studio 12 hours a day or anything. You piece things together over time, recording layer after layer and making lots of changes. Somehow it ends up done one day, and you’re really lucky if you can then still listen to that record the next morning.
- How differs this album from “In The Attic Of The Universe”? Well Peter made that one by himself so Hospice includes the work of four more musicians. The songs are broader in scope, the album flows better as a whole, it is more dynamic sonically, the lyrics tell more of a story, and the album is about twice as long.
- What was the reason for writing such a sad and depressing album? I don’t think it’s a sad and depressing album. I don’t think any piece of music is depressing if it’s beautiful. Sad and depressing is the opposite of music in a way. I think anyone who is depressed by this record is really missing the point. It’s not about dying, it’s about overcoming guilt and moving forward with your life – about figuring out how things fit together and becoming a more confident person.
- When dealing with such topics like cancer and death – did this album change your way of living and thinking? In which way? You always learn a lot through the making of a record and the discoveries you make affect your life in a dramatic way. Just the finishing of a big project is a cathartic sort of release and you’re suddenly moved into a new era so to speak. You’re sort of reborn in a way and you have to make new discoveries now.
- What do you think is absolutely necessary for writing / recording a good album in your mind? A lot of patience and very little sleep. And lots of coffee. A willingness too to just experiment and try things and kind of just run on instinct. Don’t make any goals other than to finish it, and don’t think about how people are going to react to it once it’s done. And don’t get hung up on what the music reminds you of, or something else you think it sounds like, as it will inevitably change so far beyond recognition that those thoughts just get in your way.
- The Antlers is in fact a solo project – is it possible that the band “The Antlers” will still consist of the active members or will it become a solo project again? It’s not a solo project. That ended with “In the Attic.” And it’s come so far since then and we’re all writing together and I can’t really imagine it existing without just being the three of us. The music now and the style and the scope and the goals musically – I just don’t think it would work as a solo project.
- 3 top albums 2009? Why? Dirty Projectors Bitte Orca is the best by far. So many risks taken and so much mind blowing beauty resulting from it. Nothing else comes close.
- What did you learn 2009? How to drive across the entire United States in 2.5 days. It takes about 45 hours.
- Your best personal experience in 2009? We got a call at 18:00 to play a sold out show opening for The Walkmen and Beach House at Webster Hall at 20:00. They are two of my favorite bands and that pretty much made my year.
- Your plans for 2010? Finish the next Antlers record.

- How did you come up with your band name?
It is a title of a philosophy book. I just liked the image it conjured up of a dark,
brooding sea. A place where you don’t quite know what lies underneath the surface. - How did you become a band?
Trial and error.
It started out as a project of me and my best friend. He didn’t like the idea of touring
constantly and we each wanted to go a different musical direction. Since I wrote all the
music, we parted ways amicably and remained best friends.
After that, the band had various line-ups for almost 2 years up until right after the
recording of “Reverence for Fallen Trees”. Kim Janssen joined a few months before the
recording of that record and co-wrote some of the music. After the recording, my wife
(Megan) and my old college buddy (Stef) joined the band one after the other through
the course of time. – How would you describe your style of music?
Acoustic, folk-influenced, pop music. – Which musical influences did you have when producing your album?
Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, Bonnie “Prince” Billie, Arvo Pärt, Benoît Pioulard, Hatebreed – Your album´s title “Reverence For Fallen Trees” conveys an appreciation
for nature, what´s the idea/story behind that name?
The title has a double meaning.
First, and foremost, it is a metaphor for the old saying “Honour, the dead.” In my
specific case; 3 of my 4 grandparents passed away in the year before and during the
time that the recordings took place. I experienced my grandparents’ presence in my life
in a gentle and unobtrusive way. The way trees are present when you walk down the
street and you don’t really see them. Until one day, you walk down that street and all
the trees are cut down. There is no longer that protective presence hanging over you.
You are all of a sudden exposed. So, the “Trees” in the title are a natural metaphore for
“My grandparents”. I respect my grandparents a lot. This is a way of me giving my final
salute to them.
The second meaning comes from the fact that we recorded most of the record in a log
cabin (house) in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. That region is the
oldest and by far largest natural preserves of the United States. The Adirondacks are
rugged, wild, mountainous woodlands with a few small towns. It is a very inspiring,
unconquered territory. It is also a very unforgiving; an area that , as a fragile human
being, demands respect. From this stems the a more literal meaning of the title – Which main topics are you dealing with in your texts?Why?
The main topics are: Family, Love, Death. The explanation for that is mostly above
already. The death of my grandparents and the profound effect it had on my parents
and relatives are topics that were close to me. Things that I struggled with. Situations
that I dealt with through music. I tried to give them meaning through music. I also dealt
with the problem of ‘meaning’ itself. What is meaningful? What is love? Why do we feel
that life is meaningful? etc. – Your album can be downloaded for free, why did you decide for that way of
promoting your album? Does it work out well, probably better?
A big part of the recording process (in NY) was done for an international recording
project, based out of Utrecht (the Netherlands) , called ‘In A Cabin With’ (IACW). They
are 50% government funded. They release all of the final recordings for free. We liked
the idea of that. Of the music being available to as many people as possible. No,
barriers between us and a potential audience. We then asked our friends label Beep!
Beep! Back up the Truck – who are a netlabel who’s entire music catalog is freely
downloadable – to help us promote our album on their label.
It seems to be working out well. Our goal was to get the music out to as many people
as possible. So far, the record has been downloaded over 50.000 times (for free). I’m
pretty sure that if we had released the record on a small indie label it would not have
been heard by as many people.
Financially, of course, this is not the best (short-term) decision for a band. But, we’re
not looking to cash-in right away or anything. We’re just hoping to reach an audience
that understands our music. – 3 top albums of 2009? Why?

The Black Atlantic’s interview robot
Das The Black Atlantic Album erschien am 16. Oktober 2009 auf Midsummer Records. Und das besondere ist, dass man das Debutalbum der Band auf der Labelseite von Midsummer Records KOSTENLOS herunterladen kann! Folgt einfach diesem Link und kommt in den Besitz wundervoller Musik:
Miyagi kommen nicht aus Japan und machen zum Glück keine verrückte Noisemusik, wie es der Name vielleicht vermuten lassen könnte. Nein, die Jungs von Miyagi kommen aus der Studentenstadt Münster und erweitern das deutsche Indieliedgutrepertoire um einige “Muss man einfach kennen”-Songs. Im November 2008 erschien das Debutalbum “Hydraulic Son” auf Richard Mohlmann Records. Dort finden sich Ideenfeuerwerke, die der Indiedisco gehörig den Marsch blasen und für die Momente sorgen, in denen man auf der Tanzfläche abrockt und dabei denkt: “Aaaah, wie geil ist das denn”. Auch live sollte man Miyagi unbedingt gesehen haben. Zwei Drumsets auf der Bühne, treibender Sound und dazu die eindringliche Stimme von Sänger Stefan: Eindeutig sehens-und hörenswert.
Myiagi touren gerade exzessiv durch Deutschland und heute abend habt ihr alle die Chance sie in der Nähe zu sehen!

2.) Fragenkatalog:
- Wie seid ihr zu eurem Bandnamen gekommen?
Es war bei einer Probe. Stefan hatte zuvor Karate Kid im TV gesehen. Zwischendurch ging er auf die Toilette und als er wieder den Raum betrat – und man ja nicht wortlos einen Raum betritt – zitierte er, weil ihm nichts Besseres einfiel, die Worte von Daniel LaRusso: „Aber Mr. Miyagi, ich wollte doch Karate lernen.“ Seitdem blieb der Name Miyagi in unseren Köpfen und als wir bei unserem ersten Auftritt einen Namen brauchten, nannten wir uns einfach Miyagi. – Wie und wo kam es zur Bandgründung?
Felix und Axel trafen sich zufällig vor einer Sparkassentür, die sich nicht öffnen ließ. Circa eine Stunde später trafen sie sich zufällig wieder und beschlossen circa eine weitere Stunde später eine Band zu gründen. Wenige Tage darauf wurde Axel von Stefan angesprochen, der ihn fragte, ob er Gitarre spielen würde, weil er Leute für eine Band sucht usw. – Wie würdet ihr eure Musik beschreiben?
Rockmusik, manche würden vielleicht Indie dazu sagen. Aber eigentlich ist es Rockmusik mit ein wenig Disco, ein wenig Post-Punk und einer Prise Surf. Rockmusik, bei der Melodie ganz groß geschrieben wird, es aber auch mal in die Fresse gehen kann – vor allem live mit zwei Schlagzeugen. – Was oder welche Musik zum Beispiel hat euch am meisten bei der Produktion eures Albums beeinflusst?
Von Inspirationen kann sich ja eigentlich kein Musiker oder Künstler im Allgemeinen freisprechen, aber eine bewusste Beeinflussung war bei der Produktion nicht für uns erkennbar. Irgendwas ist sicherlich immer da, was einen musikalisch oder textlich irgendwo hinführt. Aber eine bestimmte Quelle war da nicht vorhanden. Inspirationen schöpfen wir wohl eher unterbewusst aus unserem Alltag, ohne sie zu bemerken oder benennen zu können. - Was ist die Geschichte hinter dem Albumtitel “Hydraulic Son”?
Irgendwann kam bei uns die Frage auf, welchen Beruf unsere Vater ausüben. Felix Vater zum Beispiel ist Arzt. Daher war Felix der Arztsohn. Stefans Vater hat hydraulische Türen für OP-Säle oder so ähnlich gebaut und seitdem war Stefan der hydraulische Sohn. Ähnlich wie bei dem Bandnamen ist dann aus einem beiläufigen Scherz der Albumtitel entstanden, der anfangs nur der Titel eines Liedes auf dem gleichnamigen Album war. – Was macht ihr, wenn ihr nicht gerade auf Tour seid oder Musik macht?
Ansonsten schauen wir uns Dokus an oder machen so Sachen, die man als ein mitte-zwanzig-jähriger Student so tut. – Was steht auf eurem Rider?
Eigentlich nichts besonders Anspruchsvolles, aber in Zukunft werden wir wohl hinzufügen, dass wir ausdrücklich kein Chili con Carne wollen. – 3 Top-Alben 2009? Bitte mit Begründung?
Die Geschmäcker in der Band sind teilweise sehr unterschiedlich und ich persönlich stelle grad fest, dass ich mir dieses Jahr noch kein aktuelles Album gekauft habe. Ich habe mir lediglich die LP Both Side Of Herman’s Hermit von Herman’s Hermits aus dem Jahre 1966 gekauft. – Eure 3 All-Time Favourite Platten?
Auch hier ist der Geschmack innerhalb der Band zu unterschiedlich, als dass man sich zu fünft auf drei All-Time Favourite Platten einigen könnte, aber mit Sicherheit wäre so was wie Coldplays Parachutes und Kings Of Leons Aha Shake Heartbreak dabei. – Das haben wir 2009 gelernt?
Dass es verdammt viele Leute gibt, die nicht wissen wie man Miyagi schreibt und wie man hydraulic ausspricht. – Pläne/Vorsätze für 2010?
Neues Album schreiben und aufnehmen und viele Konzerte geben. – Was stellt ihr euch unter Bedroomdisco vor?
Leider hab ich mir grad die Internetseite angeschaut, so dass ich bereits weiß, was es ist, und somit alle eigenen Vorstellungen dahin sind. – Wer hat den Fragenkatalog ausgefüllt?

Und schon wieder sind Freunde aus dem Audiolith-Clan in der Bedroomdisco zu Gast! Diesmal im erbarmungslosen Bandinterview: Juri Gagarin aus Hamburg! Sergej und Arnold von Juri Gagarin waren übrigens eine der ersten Interviewpartner der Bedroomdisco. Aber das war vor grauer Vorzeit in unseren Anfängen. Seitdem hat sich beim sozialistischen Technoduo Juri Gagarin auch eiiiniges geändert. Erstens haben sie an ihrem neuen, zweiten Album „Cobra“ gearbeitet, das Ende November erscheinen wird. Außerdem sind Juri Gagarin jetzt kein Duo mehr, sondern zu dritt. Die Sängerin Flicke ist nun die Gallionsfigur des Partydampfers Gagarin, der durch Vodka angetrieben wird und sich schnell und wendig wie eine Cobra durch bratzige, technoide Popwogen pflügt. Zu Ehren des gleichnamigen Helden des Weltraums benannten Säge und Arni ihre elektronischen Klangkonstrukte damals JURI GAGARIN, in der Hoffnung es möge etwas seiner heldenhaftigkeit auf sie abfärben.
Wie und wo kam es zur Bandgründung?
Gelangweilt vom straighten Hardcore und Straight Edge ihrer Vorgänger-Band wandten sich Säge und Arni dem sowjetisch inspirierten Electro zu und versuchten damit der tristen Kleinstadt Lüneburg zu entfliehen.
Wie würdet ihr den Sound eures neuen Albums „Cobra“ beschreiben?
Hart, klebrig, pop.
Welche musikalischen Einflüsse hattet ihr bei der Produktion eures neuen Albums?
Motörhead und Kreator. Ernsthaft!
Was ist die Geschichte hinter dem Albumtitel „Cobra“? Ist eure Musik etwa so schnell und tödlich wie ein Cobrabiss?
In unseren feuchten Träumen schon.
Zu Juri Gagarin gehört jetzt auch Flicke, wie kam es dazu?
Flicke trieb sich ebenfalls zur falschen Zeit am falschen Ort in Lüneburg rum und landete so vorerst gemeinsam mit Säge und Arni in einer gemeinen pop-punk band namens Iskra bevor sie sich dann auch bei JURI GAGARIN mit auf die Bühne schmuggelte.
Inwiefern hat Flicke den Sound des Albums bzw. eure Produktionsweise beeinflusst?
Sie hat uns gezwungen Akustik-Gitarren und kitschige Synthie-Flächen einzubauen und denkt dasz es immer noch ‚punk’ ist, aus Techno Pop machen zu wollen..tsss.
Persönliches Lieblingslied auf dem neuen Album? Warum?
TAKEOVER. Weil, das geplant ist.
Sind die Sonnenbrillen, die ihr auf dem Albumcover tragt wirklich vom Schwarzmarkt?
Immerhin sind sie geklaut.
Plant ihr eigentlich auch mal in Kasachstan auf Tour zu gehen?
Schon, aber das geht erst,wenn Flicke die Abschlusz-Prüfung des Vodka-Kurses bestanden hat.

What is the story behind your band name?
We get a lot of inspiration from Hitchcock. So first of all we thought of “The Birds”, which is one of our favourite movies. But it was a bit to similar to the well known band “The Byrds”. So instead we borrowed the name from another great Hitchcock movie. Dial M for Murder.
How did you become a band?
We met during summer 2007 and decided to form a band. We used the autumn to get inspiration and and did not touch our instruments until we recorded our first demo during winter 07/08.
How would you describe the style of your music?
David: I dont know really? What do you think?
Andy: Swemo! (swedish emo)
Which musical influences did you have when writing this album?
David: Hmm. Nothing really. My own thoughts and feelings mostly.
Andy: None
Is it right that you recorded your album mainly at night?
Yes.
Why?
It is easier to concentrate at night when there’s not that many people around you. And I guess the true feelings come out at night!?
Which song on the album does personally mean most to you?
Everyone is very personal to us.
Why?
Because it comes straight from our hearts…
If you are not making music, what are you doing?
Reading or writing probably. Or drinking…

Mit “8000 Mark“, ihrem neuen zweiten Album sind Supershirt aus Berlin wieder janz oben dabei bei der “Sprechgesang auf Elektrobeat meets Zappeleurodance Party”. Das Duo aus der Audiolith Familie ist im Moment wild am Touren, genau dort, wo ihre Musik auch hingehört: in die Disko, in den Club, in die heißen und partyfeuchten Indiediscovenues.

- Wie seid ihr zu eurem Bandnamen gekommen?
Haben wir uns selber ausgedacht. In Zukunft wollen wir mehr in Richtung Merchandising gehen und Shirts verkaufen – da können wir den Namen auch noch gut gebrauchen.
- Wie und wo kam es zur Bandgründung?
Faxe hatte Ende der 80er zum Toben und Blutwurstessen in seine Residenz nach Graalibu eingeladen. Tim kam vorbei, stellte aber fest, dass er der einzige Gast war. Nur Faxe, seine Mutter und die Hausdame Schustern waren vor Ort. Über dem Eingangsportal des Anwesens hing ein mächtiges Spruchband mit der Frage “Bänd gründen?”.
- Wie würdet ihr eure Musik beschreiben?
Das überlassen wir lieber anderen. Wir machen die Musik schließlich schon.
- Welche musikalischen Einflüsse habt ihr?
HipHop, Techno, Eurodance sind wohl die Eckfeiler. Wir hören natürlich auch viel Pop und SingerSongwriter-Zeug. Eigentlich die Hits der 80er, 90er und das beste von heute.
– Euer neustes Album heißt 8000 Mark, ist der EURO etwa out?
Anachronismus – wir wollten das Wort unbedingt mal in Interviews sagen, deshalb. Außerdem reimt sich bis auf ein-zwei Bildzeitungswörter nichts auf Euro.
– Inwiefern unterscheidet sich “8000 Mark” von eurem letzten Album”Du bist Super”?
Wir haben das neue Album am Stück produziert und wussten, wo wir vom Sound her hin wollen. Das war bei “Du bist super” anders – da haben wir noch viel rumprobiert.
- Habt ihr spezielle Assecoires für eure Auftritte und welche sind das?
Kleidung
- Wie tourt ihr? Habt ihr einen Tourbus/Was ist euer typisches Tourgericht?
Wir touren ganz einfach zu zweit in unserem Sportwagen und verbringen tatsächlich die meiste Zeit auf der Autobahn. Was wir essen, hängt ja meist von den Veranstaltern ab. Da gibts oft Käsebrote oder Chili con Carne – aber das hat sich inzwischen verbessert – manchmal gibt’s sogar Ei zum Frühstück.
– Was steht auf eurem Rider?

Diese Frage beantworten wir nicht – das wäre uns zu peinlich.
