Nachdem vor relativ genau einem Jahr das aktuelle Album Thank You for Today von unseren US-amerikanischen Indie-Helden Death Cab For Cutie erschienen ist, kündigt die Band um Frontmann Benjamin Gibbard nun in Form von The Blue EP eine neue Veröffentlichung für den 6. September an! Gleichzeitig erscheint mit Kids in ’99 der erste Song daraus, der als Tribut an die drei verstorbenen Kindern bei einer Explosion 1999 in Bellingham, Washington gedacht ist. Gibbard sagt dazu: “The Olympic Pipeline explosion in 1999 was a tragedy that really affected me while we were living in Bellingham…After all these years I felt it was worthy of its own folk song.”
