Am letzten Freitag war es endlich so weit und das lang erwartete Debütalbum Dream in Colour erblickte das Licht der Welt. Die Platte ist ein Sammelsurium und Zeitzeugnis des aktuellen Standes des Projekts Franc Moody geworden – mit dem Besten, was die Band im Laufe des letzten Jahres in ihrem kleinen Studio im Nordwesten Londons aufgenommen hat. Inspiriert wurde Dream in Colour durch die verschiedenen Erlebnisse und Charaktere, die Franc Moody bisher auf ihrer Reise kennengelernt haben.
Doch Dream in Colour schlägt auch kritische Töne an, und thematisiert die Tatsache, dass unser modernes Leben ständig zwischen der Online-und der Offlinewelt zu pendeln scheint; von der Welt in unseren Smartphones zu der, die wir jeden Tag mit unseren physiologischen Sinnen erleben. Es wird der Frage nachgegangen, was unsere emotionalen Erfahrungen wie Freundschaft, Liebe und Gemeinschaft online von denen, die wir im wahren Leben machen unterscheidet. “Manchmal” erklärt Ned, “kann sich der Wechsel zwischen den zwei Welten anfühlen wie ein Wechsel von Schwarz/Weiß zu Farbe. Dream In Colour
Title track of the album, and a great one to play live. The tune sums up the ethos of the album lyrically and explores the sometimes difficult relationship between technology and real life.
Terra Firma
This is a Franc Moody nod to the rave culture we’re so inspired by. It’s an attempt to bottle that euphoria.
Skin On Skin
A little slice of soul with a Franc Moody revamp. Our sauciest number to date.
Charge Me Up
A funk overdose inspired by George Clinton and James Brown. This tune will unlock your limbs and might even bring back the dead.
Flesh & Blood
A chunky, smouldering number, a celebration of all things beyond the tactile and physical makeup of our bodies. Layers deeper than just our flesh and blood.
Grin & Bear It
A groove created by mixing Howler Monkey esque vocals and spoons. It trucks along with the interplay between bass, guitar and synth. This tune is all about our ill advised tendency to keep things bottled up.
Night Flight Reprise
Recorded in St Peters Church, Southease. An oboe-led, space inspired odyssey.
Night Flight
A space inspired funk groove that puts “Yuri Gagarin” the Soviet cosmonaut and “hefty kick drums” together in a warehouse in Tottenham.

This is a song we actually wrote many moons ago and took ages to get it right as a Franc Moody thing. Always a favourite at our live shows.
This Is A Mood
This bop is a Hall & Oates kind of jam that came together really quickly. Reckon it’ll be a real grower with listeners and features Jon’s mum and sister on strings.

A tune that lived as an instrumental for a long time before we decided on getting incredible French vocalist Marieke into the studio. She absolutely made the tune!
