MEADOWS – Inspiration

März an.

Pierre Bensusan – Intuite

A friend gave me this record many years ago. I was mostly playing classical and instrumental finger- style music back then. Still I really didn’t enjoy listening to finger-style guitar. It just rarely got to me. But Pierre Bensusan has something very unique and deep in his expression. I’ve spent countless hours listening to him. So my playing style was really affected by him. I think you can hear that in my guitars on the album.

Genesis – Selling England By The Pound

This is my teenage love, and they’re somehow always there in the background. I always loved the way they layer guitars and I have a huge soft spot for Tony Banks playful keyboard melodies. I know their sound have shaped me a lot.

Supertramp – Last Famous Words

This record I found in my dads collection as a kid. Roger Hodgson’s vocals, their pop melodies and the way they use the 12-string is definitely part of why my record ended up like it did.

Camel – The Snow Goose

This record showed up about the same time as I discovered Genesis. Before recording the Emergency Album I went back to listen to a lot of my old records and realized that this one I know by heart – every little melody on there. This one really pulled me back to my musical roots.

Sufjan Stevens – Carrie & Lowell

You can’t be a sad beard with a guitar without running into Sufjan sooner or later. I always liked his stuff, but this record really got to me. I love the fragility of it and I think that listening to this record made it a bit easier for me to pursue that.
